Summary: A oneshot based on Remembering You by Steven Curtis Chapman. I believe it fits perfectly with the Underland Chronicles.

	Remembering You

_I found You in the most unlikely way
But really it was You who found me
And I found myself in the gifts that You gave
You gave me so much and I_

_I wish You could stay
but I'll, I'll wait for the day
_I watch as our final moments unfold. We kiss for a long time. I feel her body pressed against mine. We have no idea if we'll ever see each other again. And so we want to make it last.

_
And I watch as the cold winter melts into spring
And I'll be remembering You
Oh and I'll smell the flowers and hear the birds sing
and I'll be remembering You, I'll be remembering You
_How could I forget this moment? How could she? The Underland was not something I could forget. Love will always be between us. Nothing can break that bond. No matter how many miles we live from each other.

_
From the first moment when I heard Your name
Something in my heart came alive
You showed me love and no words could explain
A love with the power to
Open the door
To a world I was made for
_The first time I saw her…when she strode towards us with attitude. The last moment…and now we were together again, and I didn't want to leave.

_
And I watch as the cold winter melts into spring
And I'll be remembering You
Oh and I'll smell the flowers and hear the birds sing
and I'll be remembering You, I'll be remembering You
_A breeze blows by, and a single leaf blows in the wind. We release from our kiss, and the leaf lands between our feet.

_
The dark night, the hard fight
The long climb up the hill knowing the cost
The brave death, the last breathe
The silence whispering all hope was lost
The thunder, the wonder
A power that brings the dead back to life
_I remember the battle, the Bane, and everything that I had ever hoped for coming true. What both of us had sacrificed, what everyone else had sacrificed. And how much it had come to.

_
I wish You could stay
But I'll wait for the day
And though You've gone away
You come back and
And I watch as the cold winter melts into spring
And I'll be remembering You
Oh and I'll smell the flowers and hear the birds sing
and I'll be remembering You, I'll be remembering You
_"I'll be back. I promise," I say.

She nods. "I love you," she says, tears filling her eyes.

The truth was, we may never see each other again. What with nuclear warfare brewing on the horizon, the entire world would soon be obliterated if nothing was done about it.

"Stay with us," she pleaded. "Come back down."

I shake my head. "I have duties," I say.

She nods and smiles, and we hug yet again, and I never want to leave this moment. But I have to. And so, we move the rock back in place, her from the bottom, me from the top.

"It'll last," I say to myself. "Wherever we go after death, we'll both be there. Ripred, Vikus, Solovet, Mareth, everyone."

I can't wait for that day.

_
And I'll watch as the sun fills a sky that was dark
And I'll be remembering You
And I'll think of the way that You fill up my heart
And I'll be remembering You_

I'll be remembering You
I'll be remembering You
I'll be remembering You

I'll be remembering You
